Play More Golf in 2017

Golf Vacation

I’m sure you will agree with me on this point – there never seems to be enough time to play golf. Even if you are able to get out to the course on a fairly regular basis, you almost certainly would like to find more opportunities to tee it up on your favorite tracks. Getting out to the course more frequently is a goal for nearly every golfer, as this game is addicting to say the least.

So, as you look ahead to 2017, now is a good time to start planning for how you will get out to play more golf. While there is probably nothing you can do about some of your current time commitments – such as work – you might be able to fit in a few extra rounds in the year to come if you are willing to think creatively in order to make the most out of your time.

Following is a list of tips that we hope will help you play plenty of golf in 2017. During your next stop in at Cape and Islands Golf Shop in Hyannis, MA, we would love to hear about your golf plans for the coming year. We hope to see you in the shop, and out on the fairways!

Embrace the Afternoon

Some of the best rounds you will enjoy on the golf course can be found in the late afternoon in the middle of the week – but you won’t experience those times for yourself if you ignore this window of time as a golf option. Most courses offer discounted rates late in the day during the middle of the week, so try to slip out of the office a couple hours early from time to time in order to fit in nine – or even 18 – holes. During the middle of summer, the sun stays up late into the evening, allowing for golf well beyond the dinner hour.

Make It a Meeting

Do you deal with clients or customers who also like to play golf? Turning golf into a work function is a great excuse to get out on the course more frequently. If you can impress a new customer while having fun on the links at the same time, your day will be a winner all the way around. Also, many companies have golf tournament functions during the summer, so try to get involved in some of these as another way to mix business with pleasure.

Take a Golf Vacation

There is nothing quite like a golf vacation to pack a few rounds into a week while also enjoying a beautiful destination and time with family or friends. You don’t even have to play any international travel to take a great golf trip, as there are plenty of wonderful golf destinations within the United States. Just a few of the potential golf trip options in the U.S. include Myrtle Beach, Palm Springs, the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, the RTJ Trail in Alabama, and more. When you place a golf trip on your calendar for 2017, you will add to your total rounds played for the year while also creating memories that will last for years.
